In June 2024 ILIOS ART hosted its second exhibition, this time co-hosted by Nicole’s peer and good friend Claire Belej. Claire is a mixed media artist who specializes in collage-making, photography and has put out collections of photography and collage zines. Nicole and Claire came together to host an exhibition centered on and made by women to highlight the talent of women artists and bring to light the importance of female representation and voice in the art world. For ILIOS, Nicole’s contributions of the exhibition included various ceramic hand made pieces and a collection of analogue photography of women artists including snippets of interviews showing an insight into the artists’ work and talents. These photographs and interviews were compressed into a zine/ book that Nicole published in ILIOS and was available for viewing and purchasing at the exhibition. Claire’s work included various collections of framed collages inspired by many different themes, each one an original piece telling its own story and framed with old and new unique frames. The exhibition aimed to highlight the diverse talents of women artists, the importance of female relationships and demonstrate that female talent has range, power and an important role in the art world.
